Tottenham Set for Busy Weekend!
Submitted by Terry1Spurs on June 29, 2012 - 12:22 pm One CommentTottenham Hotspur is set for a very busy weekend if all the reports spread out by the media are to be believed. Andre Villas-Boas is expected to be named as Harry Rednapp’s successor. Gylfi Sigurdesson will seal a deal within the next 48 hours having agreed personal terms with the Club. It seems that Luka Modric will be allowed to leave Spurs for a club outside the Premier League, Real Madrid being the favorites. According to Ajax manager, Frank de Boer Jan Vertonghen’s transfer to Tottenham is back on and will be completed shortly. As a result of this, William Gallas will now be moving on to West Ham. Having agreed to take a wage cut Emmanuel Adebayor will turn his loan period to a permanent move.
Personally, I would be happy if the majority of the above all turn out to be true. I’m getting to like the idea that AVB has something to prove. The fact that Gareth Bale has signed a new contract is a sigh of relief for many of us. I’m not familiar with Sigurdesson so I can’t really comment on him, but of what I know of Vertonghen he is a terrific player. It would be sad to see Luka leave and I hope he finds happiness in Spain, where it rains mainly on the plain, but if we can squeeze £30-40 million for him then why not? A move to West ham for William Gallas probably makes sense and as far a pay cut for Adebayor is concerned….. I’ll believe it when I see it!
Let us see exactly how much of this is true and how much of this actually happens. I would be interested to hear people’s thoughts of any the topics I’ve mentioned, especially about the possibility of having AVB as a manager.

I am keeping everything crossed that AVB will be named after today (1st July, when his contractual obligations demand he abstains from Premier League managenent ends). Of all the names conjured up by the media, his name carries the biggest and most exciting future prospect for THFC. Already the rags of Fleet Street, now including Express, have started ridiculous and pathetic snipes against AVB. All Spurs fans reading there utter pointless drivel will laugh and understand that they are trying to generate negativity. If they bother to look beyond there half-empty pint glasses with luke warm beer, they will see respectable media reporting that already AVB is attracting players that may well reject Man City’s enormous spending power, and prefer to be coached by a brilliant coach they worked for, previously. Anyone heard of Moutinho? Yes, we will be ridding our surplus to requirements players, thus generating funds for our string of latest aquisitions. Only Modric will be a loss to our squad, and maybe John Two Saints, who failed to live up to expectations in the Spurs shirt, but, as the author has stated above, new blood will be welcomed with relish. COYS!!!
