Vertonghen second signing for Spurs
Submitted by CyprusYid on July 8, 2012 - 2:25 pm 3 CommentsJan Vertonghen is the second signing for Spurs in this summer’s transfer window. It was a badly kept secret that Jan wanted to leave Ajax and join Tottenham Hotspur, from before the Euro 2012 tournament that his country, Belgium, failed to qualify for, although, in the warm-up before the competition, we were priveliged to see Vertonghen close up when Belgium played against England in a friendly, at Wembley.
Jan tweeted his relief of finally having Ajax and Spurs agreeing terms for his transfer that will require a medical, before being announced officially to the press. Already Ajax fans have tweeted Jan to wish him well in his move and appreciating his work for Ajax, where he was the Dutch Player of the Year.

I personally feel that so far DL has carried out an excellent job with both signings. There is another signing of a young Manchester United defender who’s transfer fee will be the subject of an arbitration decision. In DL I believe that we can only go forward. FORSA SPURS
From the official site:-
The Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Luis Martins as First Team Coach.
Luis previously worked at Sporting Lisbon winning national titles as coach of their Under-17 and Under-19 sides in 2004 and 2006, respectively, working with teams which included Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani and Joao Moutinho.
He was also Assistant Coach for their First Team during the 2004/05 season when Sporting reached the final of the UEFA Cup and later moved to SC Braga in 2008 as their Head of Youth Development.
During 2011, he worked with Saudi Arabia’s national and Olympic teams and last season coached Al Ahli’s Under-23 side to the national championship in Saudi Arabia.
Isn’t it funny that suddenly, if a quality player appears in the media as speculation for transfer, it’s always Spurs topping the list!
